Ocean2Ocean: 50km & 42km Guided Mountain Trail Runs
Next Run: Saturday 10 April 2010

The Ocean2Ocean guided mountain trail run is the trailrunner's version of the Two Oceans Ultra Marathon, Cape Town’s popular and scenic 56km road run. The O2O trail version starts at Muizenberg Beach and follows a roller coaster route through the Cape Peninsula’s spectacular mountain chain, taking runners over the St James Mountains, through Silvermine Nature reserve and eventually onto Table Mountain before finishing at Camps Bay on the Atlantic Seaboard.

Guided Mountain Trail run in Cape Town, South AfricaThis is not a race but a guided pack-run, run at a slow to moderate pace. The run will take place at various times throughout the year both for larger groups (numbers limited to 20 runners) and for smaller groups (up to 5 runners) for each distance (50km and 42km). The 42km route starts and finishes at the same venues as the 50km and takes in much of the same route.

Runners, are expected to be totally self-sufficient (each runner must carry their own water and snacks) for the duration of the run, be fit and confident running over broken and rugged terrain.

Seconding tables with snacks and drinks will be provided at the end of Leg One at Silvermine Dam and at the end of Leg Two at Constantia Nek. Runners can also arrange for family and friends to meet and second them from these venues.
